Maine State Police are investigating the death of a 22-month-old child in Thomaston.
At about 7:26 p.m. Wednesday, Thomaston Police and Rescue responded to the Walmart in Thomaston for a report of a child not breathing, according to Maine State Police.
The child was brought to Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport and there pronounced dead. The body will be brought to the state medical examiner’s office for an autopsy.
Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit is investigating, as is protocol in all child deaths in Maine.
Police have not released any other details about the child or circumstances of the death.
