Police arrested six people on Wednesday after raids on two suspected drug houses in Rockport.
The arrests followed a months-long investigation by the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency’s Mid-Coast District Task Force, in which undercover agents bought illegal narcotics at three residences on Beech Hill Road.
Using a search warrant MDEA agents with help from multiple local police departments raided the residents early in the morning Wednesday.
Agents found 60 grams of fentanyl, 8 grams of crack cocaine, four handguns, three shotguns and seven rifles, one of which — a loaded AK-47 — police suspect had been altered to be fully automatic, according to the MDEA.
Agents also removed a St. Bernard from one of the houses after determining it was neglected and living in poor conditions.
Six people were arrested in connection with the drug ring: Eldon Bennett, 41, of Rockport; Holly Beaupre, 40, of Rockport; Sean Oesterlin, 33, of Rockport; Lawrence Wotton-Thayer, 37, of Waldoboro; Luis Cheveres-Rivera, 38, of Elizabeth, New Jersey; and Randy Lohones, 32, of Dorchester, Massachusetts.
All were brought to Knox County Jail in Rockland. Oesterlin posted bail, according to the MDEA.
