The death of a 34-year-old man found in Edgecomb last Tuesday has been declared a homicide.
William Nathaniel Robinson of Austinville, Virginia, was found dead near the Schmid Land Preserve on Old County Road by a hunter last Tuesday at around 9:30 a.m.
An autopsy by the state medical examiner’s office determined that Robinson died of a gunshot wound, and a homicide investigation has been opened, according to Maine State Police spokesperson Shannon Moss.
Robinson had been staying at an Edgecomb home before his death, Moss said.
Officials said Monday that there is no ongoing threat to the public. Further details were not provided on Monday evening.
