Voters in five midcoast towns have overwhelmingly rejected a $7.3 million school bond package.

The voters of the Five Town Community School District — comprised of Appleton, Camden, Hope, Lincolnville and Rockport — rejected the bond package 1,539 to 591 on Tuesday, according to the Pen Bay Pilot.

The package would have funded upgrades and repairs to Camden Hills Regional High School. It would have replaced the Don Palmer field with an artificial turf, improved the HVAC system, replaced siding and windows, and upgraded and repaired Strom Auditorium, the Pilot reported.
