A Lincolnville man was arrested early Monday morning at a Belfast motel.
Jacob McFarland, 31, was charged with domestic violence assault and criminal threatening, according to CBS affiliate WABI.
A woman called police to the Searsport Avenue motel about 8 p.m. Sunday. When officers arrived, the woman told them that McFarland was hiding in the unit and had a weapon, WABI reported.
McFarland allegedly threatened to kill her over a period of three days and was violating an order barring him from contacting the woman, the TV station reported.
Officers removed the woman from the motel unit, and after several hours, police took McFarland into custody about 1:30 a.m. Monday, according to WABI.
He was taken to the hospital for evaluation.
