Spring is officially here, which means it’s time for another annual tradition in Maine: trying for a table at The Lost Kitchen.

The Freedom-based restaurant announced its mailbox is now open for postcards, which it asks hopeful patrons to send in for reservations.

The restaurant is gearing up for its 12th season, and The Lost Kitchen has plans for farmers markets, pop ups and other events.

Please include your name, address, phone number and email in the postcard. The Lost Kitchen says to use the remaining space to send a note if you’d like. In the upper left hand corner, please write “2025.” Be sure to use appropriate postage.

Address and mail your postcard to:

The Lost Kitchen

22 Mill Street

Freedom, ME 04941

The popular Maine restaurant owned by Erin French transitioned to postcard bookings in 2018 after becoming overwhelmed by calls and visits to secure a table.

Folks send in postcards and then the restaurant chooses from those, reaching out to people to book reservations.

Dinner at The Lost Kitchen for the 2025 season will cost $295 per person. The five-hour, multi-course dinner doesn’t include tax, tips or drinks.
