The signs of spring are mounting: the birds, the mud and now road work.
Beginning April 7, work will resume on the replacement of the Great Brook Bridge culvert, as well as rehabilitation and reconstruction work on Route 1 in Camden, according to the Maine Department of Transportation.
That work began in November last year.
The work begins about half mile north of Sagamore Road, near Camden Hills State Park, and extends north for about 1.5 miles, the department said Monday morning.
Traffic lights and flaggers will guide an alternating two-way traffic pattern throughout the construction zone.
This $9.3 million project is expected to be completed by June 2026.
Fairfield-based Ranger Construction Corp. is the contractor for the project.
