This story has been updated.

A fuel truck crash closed a lane of Interstate 295 in Brunswick for 14 hours on Wednesday.

Nicholas Garcia, 28, of Cape Elizabeth was driving a 2020 Kenworth fuel truck north on I-295, near mile marker 26, about 2:43 a.m. when he left the right-side of the road and overturned, according to Shannon Moss, a spokesperson for the Maine Department of Public Safety.

Garcia was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland, where he was treated for injuries not considered life-threatening, Moss said Wednesday.

He was hauling 2,900 gallons of off-road diesel for Irving Oil.

The fuel truck leaked about 2,400 gallons of fuel. Crews removed the wreck and spent the day cleaning up the spill.

The lane was closed until just before 5 p.m.

Correction: The Maine State Police now say the truck was hauling off-road diesel, not kerosene.
